Intertek offers food testing in the UK through what it describes as a network of laboratory facilities based in the UK. Its microbiology testing covers pathogens including E. coli, Campylobacter, Salmonella and Listeria, as well as spoilage organisms such as yeasts and moulds. It also offers nutritional analysis, with results in as little as 24 hours, and shelf life testing tailored to a product’s composition, storage and packaging.
Other services include allergen testing, meat species identification by Real Time PCR or ELISA, food fraud testing, label review and validation, and water testing including Legionella. It provides advisory support for FSSC 22000 and HACCP. Intertek states that it is UKAS accredited testing laboratory No. 4065 and that its laboratories are accredited to ISO 17025.
