Vimta Labs was founded in Hyderabad in 1984 and provides testing and inspection services for sectors including food, water and beverages, agriculture, nutraceuticals and packaging. Its food testing covers bakery and confectionery products, ready-to-eat foods, condiments, additives and proprietary foods, with services listed including food microbiology, allergens, antibiotic testing, banned dyes and colours, food additives testing, food nutrition testing and food shelf-life studies.
Its microbiology testing includes detection of food-borne pathogens such as Salmonella, Listeria monocytogenes and Bacillus cereus, along with environment monitoring and validations. The company says it has a network of seven laboratories across India, and its accreditations page lists food laboratories in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Noida, Nellore, Nashik and Mumbai. It states that it is NABL accredited and an FSSAI approved National Reference Lab for testing water and beverages.
