ReFood collects food waste and processes it by anaerobic digestion into renewable energy and biofertiliser. Established in 2011, it runs three purpose-built food waste processing facilities: Doncaster, opened in 2011 and home to its head office, Widnes, opened in 2014, and Dagenham, opened in 2017. Each has capacity of 160,000 tonnes a year, and ReFood says it processes 480,000 tonnes of food waste per annum. Doncaster generates renewable electricity and heat, while Widnes and Dagenham inject biomethane into the national gas grid.

Services include food waste collection with bin, caddy and bag options, bulk collections, turnkey solutions, a trial service and ReGrow biofertiliser. Sectors served include food manufacturing, hospitality, retail, education, the public sector, local authorities and small businesses. ReFood states that it holds ISO 9001 certification and PAS110 certification for ReGrow.
