Land O’Lakes, Inc. is a cooperative formed in 1921, when 320 Minnesota dairy farmers joined forces, and is owned by farmers and ag retailers. Based in Arden Hills, Minnesota, it works in three areas: Dairy Foods, Animal Nutrition and Crop Inputs. Its dairy foods business makes butters, cheeses and spreads for retail, develops products for restaurants and schools, and supplies specialty dairy powders and bulk dairy products as ingredients. Dairy brands named on its website are Land O Lakes, Kozy Shack and Vermont Creamery. Beth Ford is President and CEO.
The cooperative says it operates in all 50 US states and more than 60 countries, but its website does not describe operations in India or the United Kingdom. Food Engineering’s 2026 Top 100 Food and Beverage Companies ranks Land O’Lakes 34th, with food sales of US$16,000 million for the year to December 2025.
