Red Bull GmbH is the Austrian company behind Red Bull Energy Drink, with its registered seat in Fuschl am See. According to the company, Dietrich Mateschitz founded Red Bull in the mid-1980s and launched Red Bull Energy Drink in Austria on 1 April 1987. Its range includes Red Bull Energy Drink, Red Bull Sugarfree, Red Bull Zero and a series of flavoured editions.
Red Bull says it sold 13.969 billion cans worldwide in 2025, 10.2% more than in 2024, and that group turnover rose 8.6% to EUR 12.196 billion. The Austrian company register lists Franz Watzlawick, Alexander Kirchmayr and Oliver Mintzlaff as managing directors. The company’s website does not name a chief executive or describe its shareholders. Food Engineering’s 2026 Top 100 Food and Beverage Companies ranks Red Bull 37th, with food sales of US$14,310 million (EUR 12,196 million) for the year to December 2025.
