Südzucker AG is the Mannheim-based parent of the Südzucker Group, which traces its founding to 1926, when five sugar factory companies merged to form Süddeutsche Zucker-Aktiengesellschaft. The group has five segments: sugar, special products, CropEnergies, starch and fruit. Its businesses include the BENEO ingredients division, the Freiberger chilled and frozen pizza group, PortionPack, AGRANA Fruit and AUSTRIA JUICE, and its sugar brands include Südzucker, Tiense Suiker, Saint Louis and Wiener Zucker. Its 2025/26 annual report gives about 90 production locations in 31 countries.
Südzucker ranks 58th in Food Engineering’s 2026 Top 100 Food and Beverage Companies, which lists its food sales at $10,263 million (€8,747 million). Dr. Niels Pörksen is CEO.
